If iTunes is displaying a message saying "The iTunes Library file cannot be saved. An unknown error occurred (-54). The common cause of this issue is when you have an iTunes library that is open by two copies of iTunes at the same time. I'm making a last ditch attempt to edit and back up my music library, removing duplicate files etc with the aim of making a back up. It works for a while, then I get the message "the itunes library file cannot be saved not enough memory" and after a while Itunes freezes. It is getting very frustrating as I have a lot to get through, it's taken me 2 1/2 hours to get midway through the B's. I am running the latest itunes on a 32-bit Windows 10 PC, there is at least 2 TB of space and should be plenty of memory. Constant freezing not only slows things down even more but I run the risk of losing the work I've saved. Please advise.
iTunes is not very good! If I didn't like my ipad and iphone so much it would never be on my computer. When I get the error message, I pull up task manager and itunes is using 948,000k of memory. Nothing else I have running is using more than 40,000k. What a piece of junk. I have 16gig of memory and 3 terabytes of harddrive space so that should not be an issue. I've had nothing but problems with itunes since ios 5 came out.
The same error message popped up on my iTunes screen too! I have 15.8 GB free space left on my iPod Touch 4th generation and it won't let me sync my recently downloaded apps, claiming I don't have "enough memory". iTunes better fix this problem!!!! D:
I got the same error message today. I emailed Itunes support I will see what they say. But I recently got this new laptop and it had like 515 GB of space left and 4 RAMs I knew my memory wasnt gone? I was ripping a lot of cds to my library though and I guess the memory holds onto the cds until you restart the system after so many cds have been added? Is all i can figure out. I recently had to buy the new computer because my old one was giving so much trouble and so I want to get my Itunes back in order and running on the new computer.. I guess I will have to restart it after every so many cds the next time to prevent it from sending that message.. i just hope that solves my problem. I dont want it to delete all my files I spent so long adding on it.
If you want to view the photos on your device after removing them from your camera roll, sync them from your photo library. When you sync your photo library to your computer, it optimizes synced photos, saving space. You can also sync a smaller selection of your photo library to save space.
