Therefore, in the current study, we will explore whether the questionnaire measures the intended characteristics. All of the data were analyzed using SPSS Statistics 25.0. The content validity was evaluated using the CVR as well as the CVI. The CVR shows the relevance of items to the intended construct. The CVR is the degree to which the content of individual items contributes to the overall content validity of a measure. A CVR equals about 0.4 or above for relevant items. None of the items has a CVR below 0.39, and all items meet the minimum CVI of 0.79 . Descriptive statistics for all items are presented in Table 1. Eight items (items 4, 8, 9, 15, 19, 23, 28 and 33) were excluded from the CVR analysis because the CVR was less than 0.4. The CVI was used to ensure that the content validity was appropriate. The CVI was calculated with the number of content valid items divided by the total number of items, and if this number was higher than 0.79, then the questionnaire was considered valid. In the current study, the CVI was above 0.79 for all items, except for items 9, 25, 27, and 28, which reached acceptable levels of 0.79. A minimum acceptable level of 0.79 is a single index of content validity, which is in our case all items 10, 12, 13, 30, 32, 36, 38 and 39. Only 8 items, items 10, 19, 26, 30, 32, 36, 38 and 39, were omitted from the final analysis, as they reached an unacceptable level for this analysis (Table 2).
Many researchers [41, 57, 59, 60] have found a high correlation between compassion and the predisposition to the trait of Openness to Experience. The current study confirmed the validity of this correlation in adolescents. This hypothesis was supported by the 6-item version of the OCC. As hypothesized, the OCC was significantly correlated with age, age of onset, and duration of the eating disorder and the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders-IV (DSM-IV) EDIAQ score in adolescents. d2c66b5586
