I'm actually very interested in what you think of the recipe. I am not an official mead maker or anything like that, but we do love mead at our home. I think that this should be a very easy recipe to start with for many people who are interested in mead or just want to try a little bit.
UPDATE 2: I have made several more versions of this recipe and have included the results. The first version of the recipe I made had too much honey. The second had too much alcohol content. The third had a bit of both (too much honey and too much alcohol). I have found a version that I think is better than the others. The version that I tried is the following:
UPDATE: I did make this recipe and it was delicious. I have a few more experiments to try with my mead making. I did end up getting a bit more sour when I made the maple orange mead. I may also try cutting the amount of honey in half. I really did not know what to expect but I think it was a great tasting mead. I will post back when I try the other recipes as well.
I have more recipes, but these are the basics for all of my meads. I use the Wildflower, Sweet Clover, Elderberry, and Elderflower Sparkling Mead recipes for all of my mead recipes. I also make Maple Orange and Dandelion Meads that use this basic recipe. All of these meads all have a hint of orange.
I am planning on making several more batches of wildflower mead using different recipes. My next batch I will be making using a double recipe from the old mead making book to make a double batch.
The recipe is simple. You can use any type of honey you wish. However, be sure it is raw, and contains no additives (ex. artificial coloring, etc.) As for the alcohol, it can be any type you wish, but again be sure to remove artificial coloring. The finished product will be a deep rich brown color. This is achieved through the addition of the star anise.
The ENCAD INC 18.104.22.168 driver should be downloaded from the manufacturer's website. If you're having trouble downloading the driver, try downloading the driver installer from the manufacturer's website.
I am running a PC with Windows 7 and Adobe Photoshop CS6. I am wondering how to end the trial period and convert to a full copy of Photoshop CS6. I tried closing down Photoshop, which produced a message telling me to return the disk. I did that, but the same message returned. How can I end this?
